*School* seems like i've been there forever, but i haven't gotten tired of it. It's fascinating to learn new things, explore new subjects and sometimes sit awestruck in a classroom while hearing something you have never even thought about.
Today I attended a presentation by Susi Childers a world-traveling photojournalist whose goal and calling was to give a "voice to the voiceless".
Susi and her husband, Paul, are part of a ministry called Voice for the Voiceless. She has a tremendous gift for photography, and travels around the world to take photos of people. She's got an amazing ability to capture the deepest emotions in her subjects, and she uses the photos to give a voice to those who are voiceless.
Her message to us was so profound, yet so simple, and it really made me think. Living in the U.S. it's an oddity that women are restricted on anything. In other countries women are subject to torture, prostitution, circumsion, women who are refugees, victims, women who have endured rape and abuse.
We are such a liberal country (more than others may think) that it is hard to imagine the lives of these women and how deep and silent their pain is.
It sounds so dreary, yet this is the depressing reaity of many women's lives. Sharing with even one person can make a difference.
